Trace of the Economic Census

The Economic Census carried out in Indonesia began in 1986. According to the cycle, the Economic Census is carried out every 10 years. Since the enactment of Law No. 16 of 1997 concerning Statistics, the Economic Census has been carried out in the year ending in the number six. Until now, the Economic Census has been carried out 4 (four) times, namely in 1986, 1996, 2006, and 2016.

In its implementation, the Economic Census has undergone various developments. The 1986 Economic Census (SE86) was the first Economic Census carried out by BPS. The 1986 Economic Census is a combination of various censuses, such as the Mining and Mining Census, the Industrial Census, the Construction Census, the Trade Census and so on.
