In February 2023, Tasikmalaya Municipality experienced inflation because
in general the price developments for various commodity goods/services showed
an increase. Based on the monitoring results of BPS Statistics Tasikmalaya
Municipality, in February 2023 there was inflation of 0.41 percent, or an
increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 112.24 in January 2023 to
112.70 in February 2023. The inflation rate for the calendar year
(January-February) 2023 of 0.41 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate
(February 2023 to February 2022) of 6.53 percent.
Several commodities that experienced price increases in February 2023
included rice, filter clove cigarettes, shallots, potatoes and preserved
milkfish. Meanwhile, commodities that experienced a decline in price included
cooking oil, broiler chicken eggs, cayenne pepper, purebred chicken, and
